Driveway contractor business guide
How to Get Work as a Self-Employed Driveway contractor
Driveway enquiries are won or lost on drainage, ground preparation and the written specification, not only a photograph of new paving. Help customers compare installations on what lies beneath the surface.
Document the base and drainage
Show excavation, sub-base, edging and finished surface as a sequence. Note whether the job used permeable materials and how water is directed. A clean photo of finished block paving alone does not show why one quotation includes more preparation than another.
Survey levels before pricing
Measure access, existing levels, manholes and the fall away from the building. Specify excavation depth, waste removal, sub-base, surface product and drainage in the quote. In England, paving a front garden with non-permeable material may require planning permission; check the rules for the site rather than promising automatic permitted development.
Find the right project partners
Landscapers, groundworkers and local builders encounter customers planning access and parking improvements. Share examples with a full specification, not a price per square metre without conditions. If you are an approved installer, identify the manufacturer and which products the approval covers.
